Recently the Town put out a request for bids for trash/recycling service. The new contract has been awarded to GFL Environmental. The week of December 18th GFL will begin dropping off trash and recycling totes. There will be a flyer attached to the recycling tote that has dos and don’ts for recycling as well as a yearly schedule. Trash will continue to be picked up on Mondays and recycling will be picked up every other Monday. The first day for both will be on January 2nd, 2024.
December 8th will be the last day that the Town will be out with the leaf machine. After that date any leaves needing picked up will need to be bagged.
During the construction on Seminary Street from Eighth to Crestwood Drive, two gas lines were found that were too shallow. These lines had been previously exposed to see the depth and were at an acceptable depth. As construction preceded the lines became more shallow. A ticket was submitted to the gas company to have them lowered on Oct 3rd. The gas company scheduled the lines to be lowered on Oct. 19th. With the rain, it got pushed back. We now have confirmation that the lines will be lowered on Oct 31st. Also, the concrete company is expected to begin work on the sidewalks and approaches during the week of Oct 30th. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
